Fighting Naptime

26 April 2009 18,039 views 2 Comments

Yup, he’s finally reached that stage where he doesn’t want to go down for naps.  Hopefully just a phase, but this weekend, Holden just wouldn’t go down for a nap!  I’d put him in his crib (had to lower it to the bottom-most setting too!) and he’d immediately flip over and start wailing.

I let him raise his racket for a bit, knowing that he’d fall asleep eventually (especially since he was asleep before I put him in his crib)!  But eventually his wailing reached the frantic hoarse panic-mode that all parents are familiar with.  I think that wail is designed to reach into your very DNA to FORCE you to take action, which in this case is to run to pick up and comfort your child.

Anyhow, I brought him back downstairs, and set him in his excer-saucer, went to the kitchen to do the dishes, and about 10 mintues later, peeked around the corner to see this:

And he was snoring!!
